This is Rhomb's overnight trip: tents go up in the afternoon inside Zaamin National Park, dinner is cooked over a fire, and once the sky is fully dark the park's altitude and distance from city lights make for genuinely good stargazing. We sleep out, wake up before sunrise for a short hike to a viewpoint, and head back to Samarqand the next morning.

Best sky I've seen in years
You forget how many stars there are until you're somewhere without any city light. The sunrise hike the next morning was a nice bonus, but honestly I'd have paid for the stargazing alone.
